Questions & Answers
I realize that some people might just want ask a question, and though I have a contact page, I'm savvy enough to realize that not everyone wants to get all chummy. I don't want to get all chummy either, sorry.
So here you can feel free to ask anything you want and I'll try and answer as honestly as I can. You do this by posting a comment. In the comments you can add your name or just remain anonymous, your choice. That's the benefit of this over email. I'll get a notice every time a new comment is added, but you'll have to remember to come back for the answer. At least you'll know I got the message though.
Enjoy! Remember, don't be shy, I'm not.

Do you have any children?
To anon: Nope, no kids yet. I have eighteen nieces and nephews, though, if I ever want to borrow any : )
how did you know web design was right for you?
To anon: I've always joked that I'm working on a lifestyle that doesn't require my presence. More and more I realize I'm not joking. I really do want to set something up that's pretty hands off so that I can pursue other interests. Even setting the web to the side, that's obviously thinking from a software standpoint. You set up software to run in the background to do your repetitive work for you. This gives you the freedom to do other things and you can still say you're doing something productive. I'm not sure web design as a service, where I work on client projects, is right for me, but the process of web design is apparently essential to what I want for myself. In learning how to accomplish my goals I found that I can help others accomplish their goals. Since I haven't fully accomplished my goals it makes sense to moonlight helping others.
Is there actually now a community of
folks in Maysville with whom you can
discuss Shakespeare, existentialism,
and prehistoric sites? Wow. If so,
that's super.....I wish I could have
found them 20 years ago when I was
growing up there.
To anon: Oh God no, Maysville is still very much a small rural farm town and the culture reflects that. There's probably a handful of people who are interested in those subjects, but I haven't seen a gathering place for them. Don't get me wrong, there's some nice places in town. They've recently restored the Washington Opera House and they put on plays there regularly. There's a new Museum Center opening this summer that, while mostly historical, promises to have art exhibits also. There's a number of art galleries and wineries in the local area. Mostly, though, it's very Norman Rockwellian. It helps that we're only an hour away from both Cincinnati OH and Lexington KY. You get Rockwell on weekdays and poetry on weekends.
great, now I'm craving Magee's Bakery. maybe I can get my mom
to pick up an order before I come
in for Mother's Day. That photo
you posted of the Marshall place,
is that on Key Pike?
To me again: The Marshall homestead is on Green Street in Old Washington. Magee's Bakery now has a website where you can order/drool over their goods, www.mageesbakeryfarm.com
